This study was led by Dr Grace Farhat and her team at Manchester Metropolitan University, whose careful clinical execution and focus on healthspan biology underpin the strength of these findings.

The 12-Week Manchester Trial (740 mg/day)

In adults aged 55–70 years:

 Significant reductions in IL-6 (p = 0.02) and IL-1β (p = 0.05)
 –5.2 mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.04)
 Downward trends in CRP and TNF-α

A 5 mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure is associated with ~10% lower cardiovascular risk, even in non-hypertensive individuals.

Together, these results indicate measurable attenuation of inflammaging, supporting vascular efficiency and systemic balance during aging.

The paper has already surpassed 15,000 reads highlighting the growing interest in evidence-based healthspan solutions like Pomanox®.

Part of a Broader Clinical Program

Additional peer-reviewed publications from the same trial reported:

• Moderate restoration of IGF-1 within physiological range (+14 ng/mL, p = 0.04)
• 20% fewer errors in the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (p = 0.05), reflecting improved executive function

These outcomes connect inflammatory balance, endocrine homeostasis, vascular flexibility, and cognition, aligning with mechanistic evidence linking Pomanox® to AHR–Nrf2–Akt/eNOS pathways

In a 12-week double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 72 participants aged 55–70, daily supplementation with 740mg of Pomanox® led to a statistically significant rise in circulating IGF-1 levels, while the placebo group showed no change. Pomanox® is standardised to 30% punicalagins, powerful polyphenols found in pomegranates, and is suitable for cardiovascular, cognitive, metabolic, skin and healthy-ageing applications, all supported by published studies.

Although telomere length was not affected during the 12-week study, researchers note that
this biomarker typically changes over longer periods. Still, the study provides valuable insights into how polyphenol-rich supplements like Pomanox® may positively influence multiple hallmarks of ageing.

In honor of this day, we would like to share a study conducted with Mediteanox® in women with breast cancer.

This triple-blind clinical trial explored the effects of hydroxytyrosol (HT), a potent antioxidant, on women undergoing chemotherapy for luminal subtype breast cancer. The HT used in the study was administered through Mediteanox®, a natural extract derived from olives fruit grown in Jaén, Spain. Mediteanox® is produced using our patented Pure-Hydro Process®, which utilizes ultrapure water.

The study found that women who received a daily dose of 15 mg of HT (equivalent to 99 mg of Mediteanox®), particularly during treatment with epirubicin and cyclophosphamide, exhibited a significant reduction in plasma levels of TIMP-1, a protein associated with cancer progression, compared to those taking a placebo. Although more research is needed, these results suggest that HT may positively influence TIMP-1 levels in this subtype of breast cancer, potentially leading to improved therapeutic outcomes for patients. Additionally, the antioxidant properties of HT may be beneficial during chemotherapy treatment.
